# Filling in a sheet

> Enter your department's numbers, check the totals, and submit the sheet for review.

Finance has asked your department to fill in part of the budget. You only see the sheets assigned to you, and nothing you do changes anyone else's.

## Find your sheet

* **Get started** lists your sheets with their due dates. Click **Open sheet**.
* **Assigned sheets** in the sidebar lists the same sheets across every budget.
* The notification you received links straight to the sheet.

If you can also see **Budgets**, your sheets are on its **Assigned sheets** tab.

The header shows the budget, the fiscal year and the due date.

## Fill it in

1. Click a cell under a period and type the amount.
2. Press **Enter** or click away to save it. **Esc** cancels. Each cell saves on its own; **Saving…** shows while it does.
3. Section totals and the **Total** column update as you go.

To have a line follow a rule, click **ƒx Add formula**, write it with the names of other lines, for example `Headcount * Avg monthly salary`, and click **Save**. Lines driven by a formula show in teal and fill themselves in.

> **You can change values and line names, not the structure.** Adding, deleting or splitting lines is done by finance. If a line is missing, ask the budget owner.

## Submit

When the numbers are ready, click **Submit for review**. The budget owner is notified and the sheet locks while finance reviews it.

| You see | What to do |
| - | - |
| Submitted | Nothing. Finance is reviewing. |
| Changes requested | Read the note at the top, make the changes and submit again. |
| Approved | Done. The sheet is locked. |

From three days before the due date, Kompass reminds you daily until you submit.

> **Stuck on a number?** Open **Co-Pilot** and ask, for example, how last year's actuals compare for this line.
